we always use the verb TO WISH but we don't know how we make a correct sentence by using it
ther are four situations where we use it
First:
TO WISH+PAST SIMPLE:
EX:
I wish I had an umbrella
we use it to talk about things to be true nowbut infact itsn't
Second:
TO WISH +PAST PERFECT:
we use it to express regretion
EX:
she wishes she hadn't left her school
Third:
TO WISH+COULD:
To express moral or physical ability
Ex:
I wish I could stop it
Iwish I could think about it
Fourth:
TO WISH+WOULD:
to express a desire
Ex:
I wish she would phone me
Notes:
*with all the pronouns we use were not was
she were we were .......etc
*we never put will or can after to wish
we always use would & could
