hi
well, i think that the lack of book culture is the main reason lies behind the neglect towards reading books, we dont appreciate that, we cant deny the fact that we (the arabs) take from the west nothing but negative points, while the western individual reads a book during travelling on bus or plane, we listen to music in our phones. it's unfortunately sad fact to the extent that if you asked someone "how many books have you ever read?!" he'd say one or two if at all the arabic individual cant bear reading a whole book, but he can bearing watching a series of 100 episodes with all details historically speaking, we used to be the number one concerning literature, iraq for example was a leading "nation" and people were competing to read as much as they can i cant deny that the historical events like colonization and wars greatly affected our interest in books and literature generally, but this is not an excuse, we need to read if we want to go forward and to get prosperity , and this latter doesnt come quickly and doesnt come for people who dont read books thank you for the topic i like it |
