Hi again and again,
In this post, I believe it is good to learn how to start a conversation. So, here are ten questions to help you start speaking English. Each of these questions helps to begin or continue a conversation. The questions are in two categories: Basic Facts and Hobbies / Free Time. There are also a number of questions that can help you continue the conversation after the first question.
Five Basic Facts
These five questions will help you get to know people. They are simple questions with simple answers and provide information so you can ask more questions.
What is your name?
Where do you live?
What do you do?
Are you married?
Where are you from?

These questions help to continue the conversation after your first question.
"What is your name?"
It's a pleasure to meet you. Where are you from?
That's an interesting name. Is it Chinese / French / Indian, etc.?
"Where do you live?"
How long have you lived there?
Do you like that neighborhood?
Do you live in an apartment or house?
"What do you do?"
Which company do you work for?
How long have you had that job?
Do you like your job?
What's the best / worst thing about your job?
What do you like best / least about your job?
"Are you married?"
How long have been married?
Where did you get married?
What does your husband / wife do?
Do you have any children?
"Where are you from?"
Where is ....?
How long did you live there?
What is XYZ like?
Do you like living here?
Hobbies / Free Time
These questions will help you continue conversations and find out more about people's likes and dislikes.
What do you like doing in your free time?
Can you play tennis / golf / soccer / etc.?
What kind of films / food / vacations do you enjoy?
What do you do on weekends / Saturdays?

This classic conversation lesson is based on the idea of creating a new society. You must decide which laws will be followed and how many freedoms will be allowed. This lesson works well for students of most levels - except beginners - as the subject brings out many opinions.

Aim: Building conversation skills, expressing opinions

Populate Ideal Land
A large area of your country has been set aside by the current government for the development of a new nation. This area will include an invited international community of 20,000 men and women. Imagine that your group has to decide the laws of this new country.

Discuss the following questions
? Which political system will the country have
? What will the official lge(s) be
?What industries will your country try to develop
? Will there be the death penalty
? Will there be a state religion
?What kind of immigration policy will there be
?What will the educational system be like? Will there be compulsory education to a certain age
?Are there any other aspects you want to talk about

? Hi. How are you today

I'm fine. In fact, it's a nice warm and sunny day in here. I'm planning to go for a nice long walk around the city.

But before I do I wanted to send you a lesson about English usage of some words and expressions


Tip n°1: Say & Tell
We use "say" without an indirect object. "Tell" on the other hand takes an indirect object - i.e. He told me.
Example Sentences
I told her to hurry up.
I said I was coming soon.

Tip n°: Shall
Use "shall" with "we" when asking for suggestions for a group.
Example Sentences
Where shall we go tonight?
When shall we meet?

Tip n°: Past Passive
The passive voice simple past is formed: Passive Subject + to be (conjugated) + participle
Example Sentences
One thousand units were produced last month.
The application form was completed and submitted to the administration.

Tip n°4: Verb of Purpose
When using a verb of purpose - I do something to do another thing. - use "to + verb".
Example Sentences
She bought the computer to get more work done at home.
Hans visited the branch to speak with the manager.

Tip n°5: If he were
Use "were" in the second conditional if clause for all subjects.
Example Sentences
If he were the boss, we'd all have more to do.
I would change my position if I were you.
