To be clever enough to get all that money, one must be stupid enough to want it

Everyone wants more money!

The trouble is, when you have more, it still is not enough! People who have more money than you or I could dream of, still complain they have money problems. Or they are in debt!
It has been said, "Money is a good servant, but a bad master." And do you know who said, "The love of money is the root of all evil"?

We worry about money. People kill for money. Many commit suicide over money. How can we make money our slave instead of our master?

WHY DOES MONEY BRING SUCH PROBLEMS
Debt is one of the biggest problems with money. Sometimes it is because we continue to spend more money than we have.
At other times, it may be due to the wrong actions of others. Debt always brings much stress and worry.
Money causes many temptations; sometimes when we are lacking money, but other times even when we have enough. We can be tempted to steal money from our place of work. Or to take bribes. Or to cheat the tax system.
. But what may seem a small thing to start with, will make it easier to take more next time. It is a down-hill slide.

'Peer pressure' also causes us to want more money. We feel that if others - our 'peers' - have things, we are under pressure to have them also, so that we do not seem different. This is equally true in poor societies as well as rich ones. And every day, we see adverts telling us that we can only find happiness through buying that new thing.

Gambling in the hope of more money is a big problem in many societies. Today, most countries have a National Lottery. Everyone hopes for the 'big one'. But gambling is like a drug - it is addictive. It spoils lives:

A great philosopher once said "Money is a barrier against all possible evils."

Money can prevent the sufferings that come with poverty like cold and hunger. While sickness can not be totally obliterated by money, it can be considerably relieved by it. Giving away money to charity can also provide us with the satisfaction of relieving others from suffering.

With money, we can obtain an advanced education that may aid us in the development of genius and extraordinary achievements. It gives us the leisure to devote a part of our time to culture and art. Money can provide a powerful diversion for all or our troubles by permitting distraction from the anxieties that assail us.

BUT we must try to get a thorough understanding of all that we may possibly do, in an honorable and legitimate way, to make much money.
