Assalamu Alaikum

Since most of us, if not all, are considered bilinguals in English-Arabic, I wanted to bring fourth this topic and hear your opinions. Now, you don't have to know formal knowledge about this in order to answer these questions ... just speak your mind ..

Code-switching is switching back and forth between your first *l a n g u a g e; and second l a n g u a g e; for example, you start talking in Arabic, and then you throw English words, phrases, or even full sentences in there

ex: Hey man, wach halek?!1

My questions are the following: 1
What makes us switch between the two l a n g u a g e;s ?1
Why do we choose to say certain expressions in one and not the other ?2
Do we feel more comfortable in either one, and how much, and why?3
What determines which l a n g u a g e;would be used (if any)?4
Is it good or bad .. please try to explain?5
Does it have an effect on the native l a n g u a g e;?6

and a lot of other questions

Well for me ......I believe in one thing .....the ******** we use as Algerian, arab bred..... the mother tongue always interfers when we start to convey our thoughts........that is to say when we want establish a conversation our background knowledge gets in between resulting a mixture of ******** neither English of stanrdard criteria as the ones used by a native nor translated Arabic of good mastery of all aspects of such............ Shortly, while expressing ourselves either in spoken or written utterances , we think in the mother tongue ******** but we speak in the target one..............we ignor that speaking a ******** is rather a complicated matter that involves not only the acquisitionn of an amount of vocabulary, or knowing a set of grammar rules, or moreover the tricky way to build up statements .......Speaking a ********, above all calls for a linguistic behaviour and a cultural effect and influence........This is just a viewpoint..
