Spelling is always important, grammar is more important, But over all, the meaning and the context is the determinant factor in the message transaction...
thus, the mind opens a register dedicated to the context that you read, and the reading process -as you should know- is acting on the base of a decoding cognitive device; this device is keen to over-lap the letters by deducing the meaning through out the whole form and structure of the sentence (that is what I call the contextual reading).
