Commercial sector; The commercial sector is ranked first with 528,328 establishments (55.1% of total institutions) followed by the services sector. The services sector is second only to the commercial sector. The services sector is considered one of the most important economic activities in Algeria with 325,440 establishments. The number of economic institutions active in the third sector is estimated at 853.77 or 89% of the total economic establishments. Of the 959.718 establishments surveyed by the Bureau (outside the industrial sector) are 83.5% located in urban areas and 16.5% in rural areas. The private sector dominated the economic fabric through 920.307 establishments (96%) compared to 2.4% in the public sector, while the mixed and foreign institutions accounted for 1.7% of the total institutions
