The Islamic civilization contributed a lot to the building of modern sciences.
The Muslims were the inventors of many mathematical rules. They even put the basis of Algebra which is an
Arabic word ( Al Djabr ). Al Khawarizmi invented the algorithms ( word taken from his own name ).
Moreover, who doesn‘t know Ibn Sina and his book ―The Canons of Medicine. Till the 17 th century,
students were taught upon his books and discoveries.
Muslims were also great astronomers. They enjoy observing the sky, the space and its planets. They
invented the telescope and gave names to at least six planets.
In the field of human sciences, no body can ignore Ibn Khaldun who, in fact, founded the basis of
sociology in his El Muqqadima
The Islamic civilization was a great one. But the western world has tried its best to ignore it.

و الثاني : على التعليم في الجزائر ....

In Algeria, boys and girls attend school until they are 16. Education is very important in our country
It is compulsory and free. The government spends great amounts of money to ensure schooling t o more than
seven million children.
There are three types of schools in Algeria: primary, middle, secondary. Schoolboys and schoolgirls are
required to attend lessons from eight to twelve a.m. and then from two to four or five p.m. They are obliged to
wear a uniform, to respect their teachers and to attend all the lessons.
There are various subject matters at school: Arabic, history, geography, maths, physics, foreign
********s, biology, etc….
Algerian pupils have to study hard to pass their examinations. The most important ones are the BEM (
Middle Educations Brevet) and the Baccalaureate which permits them to go to university.
