for preparing for the examination

Question

What is a tag question ?

Answer

It is a short question which we put at the end of the sentence

If the intonation of the tag question is down,the aim of the question is to ask for confirmation but if the intonation is up,the aim of the tag question is to get information

When the speaker knows the answer and he just wants confirmation,the intonation goes down

Example

The teacher: The classroom is very hot,isn't it ?

The intonation in the question tag here goes down because the teacher knows that the classroom is hot

and he wants confirmation from his pupils.That's why he asks the question tag with a falling intonation

Now,consider this short dialogue

Teacher: You have two brothers,don't you ?

A new pupil: No,Sir.I have just one

Here,the teacher asks the question tag with a rising intonation because he doesn't know how many

brothers the new pupil has.So,he asks the question tag seeking information not confirmation

Question

How can I use So and neither to express agreement?

Answer

Well,it's easy.If the statement is affirmative,use so then turn the statement as if you are asking a question without putting a question mark that is to use an auxiliary and a subject.But if the statement is negative,use neither then do the same as you did with affirmative statement

Example

A: I am very tired today

Here the statement is affirmative.So,we use so

B: So am I

Another example

A: I live far from school

B: So do I

Third example

A: I am not happy

Here,it is negative.So,we use neither

B: Neither am I


Fourth example


A: I don't speak Spanish

B: Neither do I

اتمنى ان تخبرنا عن الاخطاء التي يرتكبها التلاميذ بكثرة في امتحان شهادة التعليم المتوسط حتى لا نقع نحن فيها

طبعا سمية

التلاميذ الممتازون كثيرا ما يقعون في أخطاء التسرع و استسهال الموضوع

و هذا يتضح لنا جليا عندما تقع أوراقهم بين أيدينا و كثيرا ما نتحصر عندما نجدهم قد أخطأوا أخطاءا

لا تتوقع من أمثالهم و يظهر لنا بوضوح من خلال إجاباتهم أنهم قد قرؤوا السؤال بسرعة و أجابوا بسرعة

و كثيرا ما تكون هناك أسئلة مفخخة تستوجب التركيز .

فمثلا في تمرين true/false يجب على التلميذ أن يجيب من النص و ليس من ثقافته الخاصة في الموضوع

لكن نجد أن التلاميذ يدمجون معرفتهم الخاصة عن الموضوع في إجابتهم و هذا كثيرا ما يؤدي بهم إلى إجابات خاطئة

كذلك في الوضعية الإدماجية معظم التلاميذ يخرجون عن الموضوع ما يؤدي بهم إلى الصفر

بعض التلاميذ يستهينون بتمرين ال phonetics الذي علامته 2 و ينسى أن النقطتان بمثابة 4 لأن معامل الإنجليزية 2

فيضيعون أربع نقاط بسهولة و هناك الكثير سيقال في حينه
