I think the education in our country was always been bad .. but in the past few years it become worse and poor in a dangerous way .. and the main reason is the LMD system ( i speak at the university level of course. and i am an LMD student by the way ) .. i'm not saying that the system is wrong or the student are not on the level .. i'm speaking about the way that the university of Algeria apply this system ... as we know the LMD is an applicative system needs so much Means to achieve the knowlege... but the Algerian government don't supply the university with the necessary tools and technology ... beside the huge number of the students it's a disaster .. teachers are not qualified to teach this system . since they have been studying and teaching old methods for all thier lives ... so all they do is teaching a new system with old method ( only theory and no practice ).. therefore i suppose there will be a big failure of this system in this country and so the Algerian education for the LMD will be the only system in Algeria in the few coming years ... and the student will be the only victim as always . the victim of the fatal decay within the study system in our beloved country.

yes you are right sir,i'm too student of ENGLISH 1st year lmd system and i found it so hard and teachers don't know even the method to apply it

well, sister i'm a 2nd year English student .. i know things seem to be difficult for you at the beginning but if you study it will reveal and became more easier soon enough .. i remember last year at the beginning of the 1st semester i almost quit but with time and study i used to it and pass to the 2nd year with a good Rate .so just don't give up . my piece of advice to you is :
as a generally speaking : you can study English by your self and develop your level in English without the help of the teacher( use Internet and books...) . so don't you ever rely only on the teacher it's a grave mistake..l
as for you (1st year student) : you should be careful about the fallowing classes:l
- methodology research: this class is not about memorizing it's about understanding and applying your knowledge in reality .. that's why the majority of student don't get a good mark in this class even if they studied hard
- linguistics : it's like philosophy you have to do researches other than your lessons in order to achieve the knowledge.
-oral expression: you should always participate and make a good picture because in this class the teacher will put the mark that he want and you can't do any thing about it
-phonetics: study it well you'll need it in 2nd year
- the other classes: study and all are piece of cake

sorry my brother for my bad english but pleas if you have your exams for the first year pleas send it to me because i don't know any example abou it and all students i asked them they said that they answer on the paper

well.. i don't really want to say how much i got ... just keep one thing in mind the mark is not always the reflex of your level ... however to succeed you don't need to study hard . you just need a good management to you time and effort . but remember: hard work (study) always gets you benefits (marks) with way or an other ... about your request my sincere apologies . i don't have any exam paper for the same reason .. but i do advice you to keep looking specially for the Methodology Research exam it will help you more than you can imagine... good luck

now i'm going to give you the coefficient and show you how to calculate your general rate:l

fundamental unit: every modules in this unit make up for the other

Writing expression: 3 (coefficient)l
oral expression: 3
Grammar: 3
phonetics: 2
linguistics: 2
culture: 1
literature: 1

unit two:in this unit you can't make up .every module goes alone.

methodology: 1
LS: 1

unit three: in this unit you can make up between these two
modules:

Info: 1
FOREIGN languige: 1

to calulate your general Rate:l

l(Rate of unit fundamental*5 + Rate of unit three + Rate of Metho + Rate of Ls )/8

don't worry teachers will tell you about this later .if they don't ask them . if they refuse insist. if they won't listen pick up a rock and smash them in the face ....joking ^_^ l

Ok here is an example to make things easy for you and the marks are from my imagination:l
To calculate your module rate: (exam mark*2+Td mark)/3
Now let say this is your rate of the following modules Multiplied in the coefficient:l
Writing expression: 14.25 * 3 = 42.75
Oral expression: 12.75 * 3 = 38.25
Grammar: 14 * 3 = 42
Phonetics: 13.75 * 2 = 27.5
Linguistics: 10 *2 = 20
Culture: 13 * 1 = 13
Literature: 15 * 1 = 15
Info: 14 * 1= 14
FOREIGN linguige: 8.75 * 1 = 8.75
Methodology: 11.5 * 1 = 11.5
LS: 13 *1 = 13
Now to calculate the rate of each unit:l
To calculate the rate of each unit: (addition of each module mark within the unit/ the number of the total coefficient)
fundamental unit: (42.75 +38.25 + 42 +27.5 +20 +13 +15)/15= 13.23
Unit three : (14+8.75)/2= 11.375
Now to calculate your general rate :

l(13.23*5+11.375+11.5+13)/8= 12.753
Your general rate is 12.753
Here is an other disappointment: Td mark always decrease the exam mark for example I had last year 17.25 in exam of grammar and I took 13 in the Td mark so the rate of the module was 15.66 an other example last I disagree with the teacher of the oral expression so when I took 14.5 in the exam mark he put 9 in my TD mark so the module rate became 12.6
one more thing sister: try to not enter the”” rattrapage”” exam .if you do; it will effect on your chances to enter The Master Degree
however
Allah never disappoint someone who works hard

good eve sister, i know that you can take these marks, as a matter of fact you can take batter, i know that because i went through the same experience... , about the Cl it's not a big deal it depends only on memorizing ... and the LT is easy too just try to understand and memorizing .. as i remember now you studying about novels etc... so it's easy .. i advice you to study with your friends, it's a very effective way to develop your knowledge..
i don't know other way to calculate the General rate.in the otherhand what i meant about the last point is: if you took a good mark in the exam and a bad mark in TD of course the Rate of the module will be Less than the mark of the exam --- so for me the TD mark always make the rate of the module decrease ...
about the quiz : generally teachers do a quiz (test) about a 15 point and they make it the TD mark .. so in best case you gonna take 15 in TD mark..

never mind sister it's not a big deal .. i love speaking with other English student .. this year seems hard for me ... teachers don't care about us .. so we have to do researches by ourselves .. and that's tired me a lot .but I'm not worried I'm sure I'll get it right in the end. these days I'm busy with Culture we are studying about British history ... sounds boring but it's enjoyable ... for the next couple of days I'm going to visit my uncle and grandma they have a nice home it's very peaceful I'll try to relax from all the study stress and enjoy the holiday.. how about you ? are you enjoying your holiday ?l

i was not at home these 2 days
so good luck for ur studies there is no level of study which is easy everything is soo hard
so my holidays was not so good because i was all the time thinking about my studies i started memory and revise my lessons yesterday but i'm worry to don't finish it
the hard module and the long was linguistics it have a lot of papers and so hard to memorise it and i'm worry if these papers is not enough for the exam
so culture we studied just (history of ideas) and i didn't memorise anything until now because it's just one paper
i want to ask you if i have to do researches about my lessons or papers are enough because if it's necessary it's too late to do it
mm written expression i didn't yet revise it we have the last lessons are capitalization and ponctuation comma semi-colon ..etc
it will come these lessons on the exam?because i don't know any exaple of exam *
so sir pleas give me some advice about the preparation of exam if i revise from now or not yet?i'm so confused or some addvice about exams how it comes

hallo sis, don't worry if you would finish all your modules or not cuz you don't have to ... you still get time till the exam ... what you need to do is revising modules that you find hard and take much time and need to be researched for in order to be understood well... but I think the majority of teachers will do a quiz after the holiday directly.. So you should take that into consideration...l
About linguistics as you can see it is the study of the linguige and it looks similar to philosophy to me... And it's very difficult to memorize something if you don't understand it, so either you do some researches on the Internet to make it easier or you study with your friends to help you understand it
about your question: please don't be confused, I believe that your teacher will give you questions only about what he had explained and about what he already gave ... what I meant by doing extra researches is in order to get a clear picture and make it easier to understand.
About written expression: capitalization and punctuation ... is an easy lesson I’ll give you an example: last year in the written Expression exam... the first exercise was about this lesson they gave us a large text an asked us to capitalize and punctuate and put comma semi-colon ... it was easy but take much time to rewrite it in your paper ..
- my advice for you: it will be good for you if you start to revise from now ... don't tired yourself .. Just try to have a clear idea for each lesson you will take (use skimming and scanning that you learnt from methodology ^_^)... Like that you'll find yourself ready when the exam comes … l

wow .. you'll pass two modules per day .. i think this is not fair at all ... you better be prepared before the exams because the week of the exam will be very tiring .. and you will not have time to revise ... however the exam of the first semester is not very difficult most student will take good marks for it's depends on your background knowledge from high school

hallo sister ... how are you, i hope your fine... well this is my last week before the exams we'll start the exams on 28/01/2012 i'm very worry cause lessons are difficult and takes time to revise .especially Italiano ( foreign languige ) i can't even combine words to form a sentence.. a good thing that my presentation last week in oral expression was very good and enjoyable, the teacher liked it a lot . ... anyway i believe your exams begins this week ...are you ready ? i hope you are .. i want to tell you that you shouldn't be worried, the first semester of 1st year is easy ... and a good advice for you is when you finish a module try to forget about it as soon as possible and focus on the coming exam ... since you don't have enough time you should divide your time this week only to revise and sleep ...no fun, i hope for you the best and i wish you good luck because you'll need it...l

hallo ... how are you ... may be tomorrow you'll finish your exams ... and at least you'll rest from this burden .. about your marks do not worry too much ... sometimes marks could be surprising.. when you think that you didn't do well the mark will be good .. and the opposite .. beside you should always look at the good side .. you did well in grammar and Written .. and probably in Oral Ex too, their Coefficient is 3.... i believe that you'll take more than 10 in general rate .... don't be despaired .. one thing i know for sure is that : the marks never be the reflex of your level ... especial in our universities ..

hallo my friend ... sorry for taking so long ... to day i finished my exames .. i was too busy during the last couple weeks
i'm not sure about how i did in the exams .. for i never discuss the tests . i only focuse on the coming ... but i think i didn't do well in EE and CIV ... it wasn't my fault the teachers were asking lame questions as if they want us to have zero ... as a result many students gave thier papers as white as snow
i need some rest, i'm very tired from those exams and this terrible wather too .... so how about you ..you got 13.5 in OE so you must be a good speaker .... how about you other marks .... i would like to know how much you got in each module ... i hope you got good marks..

i have just phonetics less then 10 but until now it's good but the catastrophe is comiing hhh (linguistics)and french but i think that my general rate is 10 or more so i want to laugh on sunday about linguistics and it's mark hh may be 4 2 or 1 because our teacher is so serious and so hard with correction

for me i don't think it will be the same as you nor as the last year .. i dont know how much i got in each module becouse i have taken the last week as a resting period at my home ... i'll go this week and live the nightmares ... my friend text me the marks of 3 modules and they were very disappointing ... i've never thought that it will be like this... especially with some teachers .. i feel like they stab me in my back ... however i don't blame my self for i did my best level ... it just that the 2nd year is not as the same as the first ... so my advice for you is to enjoy it as long as you still can ... l

hallo how are you ... i'm fine since i'v taken this week as a resting period as well ... so how was it your linguistics mark .. i hope you got at least more than 10 .... this module is the only module that i couldn't understand .... last year in the first semester when i didn't study it well i've got 10 ... in the 2nd i study it very hard .. and still got 10 .... so my guess will be 10 this year too in this module

hallo . how are you ... you've got 10 in linguistic too .. at least we have something in common ... any way my marks are driving me bananas although i didn't get any mark below 10 yet ... most of them are either 10 or 11 .. i swear if i get one more 10 or 11 ... i'll kill the teacher >_< .... i may go tommorow to check the college and check how my frineds did ...
