Peace be upon you

Today I want to start a new game: idioms game.
I will start by giving you an idiom and you must find its meaning, explain it in a good way, and give us a new one.
Please let's avoid "thanks" and "you're welcome".. Let's learn new expressions together, do researches, improve our style..
God bless you
Let's start

Thanks Malika, but the aim of this activity is to make us search
Believe me in this way we will memorize the meaning better than if we read it simply
I'm still waiting for an answer

Drop by the wayside

Definition: give up or fail before the finish; not finish

Explanation: Used when speaking about someone or something that fails to complete a task or activity - usually a rather difficult one.

Examples: I had to drop by the wayside on my last marathon. - Unfortunately, many students drop by the wayside before the end of the course.

Well, I know this one! I will try to explain it with my own words: It has the same meaning with "to play with fire" or something more dangerous; a real risking. I hope it's clear! lol
