A Good Student Is The One Who Shows Respect Tohimself First In That Way He Forces The Others To Respect Him Even He Is Not A Good Student.
Besides A Good Teacher Is The One Who Doe S His Best To Give The Lesson In A Good Way Using All The Means Possible.ofcourse He Will Be More Performent If The Students Are Good
A Good Teacher+good Pupils =a Good Perception Of The Lesson

yes you are right but this kind of pupils is rare
according to your experience sir why this kind of pupils is rare
is it due to...
school itself
family conditions
society
the student himself
or all what is mentioned above
thank you sir

From the previous topic, it seemed to us that the obligations of teachers towards their students are never ending. But those of the students are numerous, they are also. By recollecting our own memories about our schooldays, and personal observation, we can realize that being a student is a complicated existence. It is quite obvious the do's and the don'ts of the good student such as: (don't be shy, Speak and participate in class, pay attention, do your home work, spend time outside classroom studying, go over what you have learned in class, be attentive, disciplined and active…. etc) but what are the dynamics and strategies to do so?
An instance is the word respect that is often given a lip service and is a word that came up several times. We have had strained relationships with our teachers in our schooldays… Students nowadays are not into that. but what is respectful and disrespectful needs reflection. Socialisation with other students and teachers doesn't mean they are disrespectful. If the student debates something with his/her teacher, he is not breaching respect. Students can go beyond their teachers. It is quite good to see my student smart being better than me when I was in my first or may be second year secondary. But of course the teacher is the first one to deserve respect. Students have to speak courteously, obey the orders, know that he/she is not the only student in the class. Respect their peers (i.e., their fellow students) and see them as sources of learning, and never underestimate their views and opinions.
Good students must have a desire to study. The way to create the later is the commitment to a goal: the goal(of l a n g u a g e learning in general) is to use l a n g u a g e skills (i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing) successfully for communication purposes and to be linguistically, culturally, and literarily proficient in the target l a n g u a g e . Set realistic goals, plan programs of study, "develop strategies for coping with new and unforeseen situations, evaluate and assess their own work and, generally, to learn how to learn from their own successes and failures in ways which will help them to be more efficient learners in the future”.
Don't perceive the lesson as be-all-and-the-end-all because the student who limits his learning to inside the classroom will make very little real progress. .they have to seek for other enrichment materials as libraries, internet, Using English when possible outside the class, watching TV… etc.
Don't be shy : Introverted students those who don't dare to say a word in front of their class mates.. they have to be sure that If they try ,they will not be punished for making mistakes. Be a risk-taker and see errors as an essential, positive part of the learning process; this is also the role of the teacher but this is no place here to discuss the role of the teacher in making a good student. Besides awareness of the goals comes the Awareness of roles : learner roles and responsibilities such as an initiator, responder, cooperator, researcher… . See learning as a cooperative and collaborative, and sometimes competitive one without rivalry.
Finally, Being interested, in my view, is the most important. the inquisitive student, the one who wants to know "why" and "how". The one who asks lots of questions keeping the teacher challenged, as it were.
I want to end up my participation by a saying from one of my lecturers of the university , he said: "bad students are the product of bad teachers ; good students are the product of their assimilation and their understanding." It is again the teacher's heavy burden to make learners develop their potential and maintain or enhance their motivation to learn. And the fact is that we are all pupils and we are all teachers.
