Belhadj Joins Al Sadd Pompey have agreed to sell Nadir Belhadj to Qatari side Al Sadd.
The Algerian – who recently represented his country at the World Cup in South Africa – made 65 appearances for the Blues, scoring six goals.
Pompey chief executive David Lampitt said: “We’re pleased to have reached agreement for the sale of Nadir Belhadj to Al Sadd.
“Nadir has made a very positive contribution to Pompey during his two years at the club, during which time he has developed as a player to the point of his impressive displays for Algeria at the World Cup.
“We’d like to thank Nadir for his efforts towards the Pompey cause and wish him all the best for the future.”
Belhadj arrived at Fratton Park on loan from French club Lens in September 2008, a deal that was made permanent later in the season.
He made his Pompey debut in a 2-1 home Premier League victory against Middlesbrough and scored his first goal in a 2-1 win at Sunderland.
But his most memorable strike came in the Blues’ 4-1 thrashing of Southampton in the FA Cup back in February.
