Did you know that the largest tree in the entire world (https://descubre.beqbe.com/p/champions--2) is in Sequoia National Park in California?
I'm thinking back with wistful fondness to my amazing camping tour of the western U.S. National Parks with my 2 daughters last fall, as I keep hearing all the stories of the wildfire damage to Sequoia National Park. 10,000 trees may now need to be cut down and cleared from this beautiful area due to damage from wildfire, disease, and drought. Most are not the largest Giant Sequoias, but the damage assessment is ongoing and the park main entrance remains closed at this time.
I hope and pray that most of these American treasures can be saved for many future generations to enjoy, and that preserving our environment will be top priority in all our thoughts and actions.
