Hello.... and congratulation on the university field you , chose to study to have a future career

Linguistics deal with the scientific study of the l.a.n.g.u.a.g.e.s and it is very wide field of study


There are countless books to read and your teacher will surely give you references which are names of books
used in studying and understanding linguistics



We had no references to read when I was a licence student, , One has to to his best to look for books
that are compatible with the studies of licence , especially the subfields that I give you below


The books I know were very few ones given to us by the teachers or I myself looked for them.

They are not intended to explain linguistics as science but they focus on your studies



these are subfields on which you can focus in and to look for books

3 Methods and theories of linguistics: structuralism; , , functionalism, , generative grammar,

phonetics (the study of the production, acoustics and hearing of speech sounds)

discours analysis
Stylistics

first things first,congrats and this field you've chosen is really cool

in general, you'll encounter a couple of modules such as : linguistcs which is about the ******** itself
phonetic is about how we produce sounds, you'll learn the transcription and...
civil is about British and American cultures including economy,politics,geography and so on
literature is about poetry; definition, elements and forms.Also prose like short stories
grammar is all about rules. i advocate you to take on a lot of exercises not just for the test or the exam,but also to drastically improve
methodology is about different techniques of writing in general
