If you wish to go to UK I recomand to you to pass the IELTS because TOEFL is not accepted anymore in UK ,and IELTS is easier than the TOEFL ;good luck

Hi;
I live in the United Arab Emirates; and i had to take an English test to get enrolled in university.
I was planing to take TOEFL; but eventually ; i ended up taking IELTS.
They are both general tests of English linguage They both test the overall level that you already have in the linguage including listening; speaking;reading and writing.
the main deffirance is that; ILETS is a British system test; and you might see the British spelling and hear the british pronunciation; while TOEFL is totally American english. but this is not a big deffirance.
the big deffirance comes on the speaking section; the TOEFL testers will tell you to speak to a voice record machine about a specific topic and you have limited time like 1 minutes and half. so ; you have to speak to a machine about a topic and cover all its aspects within 1 minutes and half; while the speaking section of IELTS is like an interview where you enter a private room and meet the instructor and have an academic interview with him.
hope it helped :mh31:
