Algeria (Group C) is on track, but must defeat Zambia in Blida to keep at least three points ahead of Egypt, which will meet Rwanda. In this group, the "final" for the qualification could be held in Cairo in mid-November in the last game, between Algeria, which has not participated in the World cup since 1986, and Egypt, missing since 1990 .

Cameroon, the most assiduous member of the continent (5 World Cups), is trying to qualify for the South African World cup against Gabon during the 4th day of qualifications (Africa region), while Ghana can easily pick up the ticket and Ivory Coast take a decisive step.

Dead last in Group A, Cameroon is preparing for a double confrontation (Saturday to Wednesday in Libreville and Yaounde) against Gabon. Defeated in Togo (0-1), held in check by Morocco (0-0), Cameroon needs two victories against the "Panthers".

The new coach Paul Le Guen, whose mission is to qualify the team for a 6th World cup despite the missed departure, will play his first match in competition at the Lions head against another French coach, Alain Giresse, the man who may lead Gabon's to its first World Cup.

The Elephants of Ivory Coast have nine toes in South Africa if they dominate Burkina Faso, which follows the classification of group E. The team mates of Didier Drogba are six points ahead of their opponents, with two rounds remaining. In case of a tie, the teams are separated on goal difference overall.

In group B, the qualification should be played between Nigeria (5 points) and Tunisia (7 points), who compete in Abuja in a duel on the top.
