"Holiday" in american is a day of festivity

Underground(br)=Subway(am)
"Subway" in american is metro, in britain they call it "Tube".

Sweets(br)=Candy(am)
in American "Sweets" are any small piece of confectionery made with sugar, however "candy" is generally "bonbon"

Chips(br)=French fries(am)
in American, "Chips" are thin slices of potatoes made crisp by being fried.

Biscuit(br)=C o o k i e(am)
in American, "Biscuits" are small flat baked bread.

Photo(br)=Snap-shot(am)
"Photo" is also used in America.
