my question is what is the difference between Literature and the literature ??
I found this question in the exam of last year ( English 1st year lmd )

I would think that "literature" would be any kind of writing in general, and "Literature" would be a title given to distinguished, well-respected works in their respective fields.

I would like just to support what had been said by my colleague Whoseen....

Teachers at times ask either strange or witty questions ...
In this case I guess " according to me" that

Literature ....is the set of artistic values and works while" the literature" stands for the study of literature itself ...
