يحكى أن رجلا زوج ابنتيه :

واحدة إلى فلاح ، و الأخرى إلى صانع فخّار ..

سافر الرجل بعد عام ليزور ابنتيه

فقصد أولا ابنته زوجة الفلاح التي استقبلته بفرح

وحينما سألها عن أحوالها قالت :

استأجر زوجي أرضا و استدان ثمن البذور و زرعها ..

و إذا أمطرت الدنيا فنحن بألف خير و إن ما أمطرت

فإننا سنتعرض إلى مصيبة ..

ترك الرجل ابنته الاولى. . . . .

وذهب لزيارة ابنته الثانية زوجة صانع الفخار

التي استقبلته بفرح ومحبة ..

وفي جوابها على سؤاله التقليدي عن الحال والأحوال قالت :

اشترى زوجي ترابا بالدين وحوله إلى فخار ،

ووضعه تحت الشمس ليجف ..

فإن لم تمطر الدنيا فنحن بألف خير..

أما إذا أمطرت فإن الفخار سيذوب وسنتعرض إلى مصيبة

و لمّا عاد الرجل إلى عجوزته التي سألته عن أحوال بناتها

فقال لها :

إن أمطرت فاحمدى الله

و إن لم تمطر . . . . . فاحمدى الله .
