if it's too short, don't choose a deep subject
if it's long you can choose any topic so that you can diccuss in details

but since it's in civilization
you may choose:
AMERICAN CIVILIZATION: an ex_ American president
what he did differently....
BRIT CIV: a king, a queen, a war between 2 nations



or you may choose an era or a period and disccuss what happened during that age
