Pollution is when something is added to the environment (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment) that is harmful or poisonous to people, animals and other living things. Smoke in the air from factories is a type of pollution as it is bad for your lungs when you breathe it in. Sewage (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sewage) in drinking water is another type of pollution as it can make you unwell if you drink it because it contains germs and viruses. People living next to a building site where there is too much noise can become sick as they cannot sleep or relax. We call this noise pollution.

Peace is a time without any fights (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fight) or wars (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/War). In a larger sense, peace (or peacefulness) can mean a state of harmony, quiet or calm that is not disturbed by anything at all, like a still pond (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pond) with no ripples.
Peace within and among states (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/State) is a goal (http://simple.wiktionary.org/wiki/goal) of many people and organizations (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organization). One organization that was set up to bring peace among the nations and try to make war a thing of the past was the League of Nations (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_Nations) after World War I (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I). When it failed (http://simple.wiktionary.org/wiki/failed) to stop World War II (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II), it was replaced by the United Nations (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations) which tries to make the world peaceful by standing for collective security (http://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Collective_security&action=edit&redlink=1) between all the members.
