Equipment: 2 large bowls, 2 Balloons, 1 bottle.
This experience serves to illustrate the effects of cold and heat on the air.
Fill a bowl of ice water, the other with very hot water. It sets a balloon at the neck of the bottle and place in bowl of hot water. The ball is quick to inflate: in the heat, the air in the bottle has expanded and invaded the ball. But if we put the bottle of cold water, air contracts and the balloon deflates.
